I finally got to check out Mistress Of Reality for myself last night when they came through Atlanta. I know that many are curious and even skeptical about whether an all-female tribute to the Sabs can deliver the goods. Well, have NO DOUBT! It was really great to see some classic Sabbath performed live after such a lengthy dry spell here in Atlanta. Mistress Of Reality perform songs from the early years of the band up through VOLUME 4 (though they did pull out SABOTAGE's "Symptom Of The Universe" out as an encore!). Among many favorites, I felt that "Fairies Wear Boots" and "Into The Void" were real highlights in the set list, but I'm not going to spoil the show and tell you everything they played! Go out and see 'em for yourself! I do plan on doing a longer feature and review on last night's show this month. This is just a little teaser until I do get around to writing that piece! Mistress Of Reality will be continuing their EVIL WOMEN tour, which now has them travelling north along the East Coast. They are still adding dates along the way, so check their site for their current itinerary, which will have them going from Columbia, SC to NY state. I'd like to send out a very sincere "thank you" to the band for being so cool and putting on a great show! Extra special thanks to Paulette Kasal (Izzy) for taking out so much time to talk with me before and after the show. Her almost theatrical portrayal of Ozzy is "over the top", authentic and endearing. But don't take my word for it - GO SEE THEM!
