The Black Sabbath Live Project is a research project that I began pursuing last year. The mission of my site is to provide the most comprehensive timeline of Black Sabbath's live performance history. To enhance the list, I have also decided to include dates of historical importance, quotes and anecdotes from band members and fans alike, as well as my own personal thoughts and observations. The web site also includes several photo galleries, which contain a wealth of photographic scans of ticket stubs, handbills, posters, CD covers and more.
Much of the material that you will find on my site has been gathered from various sites throughout the Internet. If it has no identifying marks, watermarks or text designating special ownership, you are free to use these images or media samples. If you happen to own the rights to and can prove ownership of any of the material on this site, but would like to withdraw the inclusion of this material from the Black Sabbath Live Project web site, then please contact me.
By the same token, I have certain items within the site that may be used ONLY BY MY PERMISSION. These items will bear the site address marking (www.sabbathlive.com) and will also contain an invisible, but embedded Digimarc watermark. The watermark can be read with many photo editing programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, by going to Filters, Digimarc and "Read Watermark". For more information on watermarking, visit Digimarc's site.
Exclusive items will mostly consist of photographs and scanned images that are given to me by patrons of this site. This is meant to protect the rights of the contributor and The Black Sabbath Live Project. By contributing material (images, media, anecdotes) to The Black Sabbath Live Project, you are also giving the site the right to use this material for any other related projects (commercial or non-commercial). But with that said, I will also work towards promoting the work of photographers and others who provide this material. Eventually, I may provide a gallery for photographers to sell their work to site patrons.
If you happen to see any images with the www.sabbathlive.com imprint posted anywhere else on the Internet, send me an e-mail with a link to the offending URL. If I give permission to use a particular image, it will NOT contain the site address or special watermarking. Offending sites will be asked to immediately remove these marked photographs, which will contain digital identifiers.
If you want to use one of these "exclusive" pictures, ASK FIRST. In many cases, I may be happy to send you an unmarked, high quality version of that scan. Most of the exclusive scans will be of a lower resolution.
A CD copy of the entire site will be filed with the Library Of Congress for copyright protection every few months. The bottom line is that I am happy to share these resources with those who aren't going to exploit this work of others for their own profits.
