7/19/05 Tweeter Center At The Waterfront Camden War Pigs, Iron Man, Paranoid PRO Three songs from Black Sabbath’s performance appear on the commercially available release OZZFEST’s 10th ANNIVERSARY. It was released on 11/22/2005 by Clear Channel Entertainment. The DVD also includes live performances by Anthrax, Trivium, Soilwork, The Haunted, Gizmachi, Rob Zombie, It Dies Today, Wicked Wisdom, H.I.M., A Dozen Furies and Velvet Revolver. Reviews of this video are fairly mixed and many fans have questioned the glaring exclusion of Iron Maiden from this release…
7/21/05 Darien Lake Performing Arts Center Darien Center (Buffalo) Intro-Sabbath Medley, N.I.B., After Forever, War Pigs, Dirty Women, Fairies Wear Boots, Symptom Of The Universe [instrumental] -> Sweet Leaf [instrumental] -> Electric Funeral, Iron Man, Into The Void, Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [intro] -> Paranoid, E: A Bit Of Finger, Children Of The Grave AUD VG audience of complete show. Running time is approximately 85 minutes.

Grant Burgess: "I did loan a Sony Minidisc MZN10 and a Sony 907 mic to a friend of mine to record the show. The sound was OK but Ozzy's voice seemed a bit weak in the mix to me."
7/23/05 Post Gazette Pavilion Burgettstown (Pittsburgh) Intro-Sabbath Medley, N.I.B., After Forever, War Pigs, Fairies Wear boots, Dirty Women, Symptom Of The Universe [instrumental] -> Sweet Leaf [instrumental] -> Electric Funeral, Iron Man, Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [intro] -> Paranoid, Outro-Changes. AUD Excellent DAT audience recording of complete show, which was cut short by a curfew. This was the 1st tape I've seen surface for the Ozzfest 20005 tour as of July 24th.

John Bogus: "Just a quick note to let you know about some differences in the Burgettstown set. Same set list as given on your page for the Mass. show, but subtract "Into The Void", "The Wizard", and "Sleeping Village" / "Children Of The Grave". Yes, you heard right - they didn't do the very best part of this years set! Seems that while Sarah was out at the concessions, she heard someone say that the show had a 10:30 curfew... And since this information wasn't listed on the official site for this particular show, I referred to the schedule of set times for the Nissan show and they ended up being the same. (The Nissan show had Sabbath onstage for 90 minutes -or- until 11:00) So, Sabbath's set got cut short by just under a 1/2 hour, they were onstage for a little over an hour."

"Really excellent early-in-the-tour charged performance. Ozzy sounded better at this show than he has for the last several tours I've seen him on. Of course, the rest of them were right on too, but Ozzy sounded much better than usual. The mix in the venue was excellent, not as much subsonic bass in the mix as compared to other shows from the 2001 tour and onward. DAT tape turned out really excellent, sitting here listening to it now - about 70 minutes, not including the intro and outro (yes, I rolled tape during those). Could have got away with video, but was running late and didn't go for it."
7/30/05 Tweeter Center Chicago Tinley Park (Chicago) Sirens -> Intro-Sabbath Medley, Sabbath Medley [cont.] -> N.I.B., After Forever, War Pigs, Dirty Women [with extended solo by Tony], Fairies Wear Boots, Medley: Symptom Of The Universe [instrumental] -> Sweet Leaf [instrumental] -> Electric Funeral, Iron Man, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [intro] -> Paranoid, Outro-Changes AUD At least five known sources are known from this truncated performance, which was aborted after 55 minutes when Ozzy's throat seized up on him.

Source #1: VG+ MiniDisc audience recording of complete, but shortened show. Running time is 58:19.

K.B (Taper).: I also recorded this show on my Sony MZ-R-700 Minidisc player using a Audio Technica Pro 24 microphone. Quality came out decent, B+ quality at least. Sabbath played a great set, unfortunately it only lasted about 55 minutes! That's it! Tony played an extended solo on "Dirty Women" with a jazzish improvisation at the end. After "Iron Man", Ozzy muttered something, then a quick run through "Paranoid" and they were done. No encore. Ozzy's voice was very good throughout, but on "Paranoid" it was weak. It appeared they cut the show short because Ozzy was getting near the end of his voice for the night. He did great up until then and the band was spirited as well.

Source #2: Mostly complete MiniDisc audience recording.

Nick J. (taper): "Well, obviously you have heard about Black Sabbath's abbreviated set last night. Ozzy sounded great up until "Iron Man". During "Iron Man", he was looking over off stage and pointing at his throat rather frantically. A bout half-way through the song his voice just gave out. After the song he quickly called out that they were going to wrap up the show. This came out of nowhere and definitely caught Adam Wakeman by surprise as he had already rolled the intro tape for "Black Sabbath". So they cut the intro tape after a few seconds and went into the "S.B.S." intro and then into "Paranoid". Embarrassing for the band I imagine. Definite proof that this short set was not planned. Interesting note: I could see Adam Wakeman playing rhythm guitar on 'Paranoid'. I can't say whether he doubled guitar on anything else because I only noticed him during that last number."

"I taped the show as well. Sony MZ-R900 with Core Sound Binaurals from Section 102, Row Y. Unfortunately, I had a bad batch of minidiscs and was fighting "disc error" problems on my recorder all day. First time that's ever happened and hopefully the last. Watch out for Sony Gold MDs all you tapers! It cut out once during Sabbath's set at the end of "War Pigs". I got the recording resumed right before "Dirty Women". So luckily, all I missed was a few seconds of "War Pigs" and the band introductions. The recording is great regardless. I can say for sure that there are now 3 audio sources for this show including myself, K.B., and another taper I am familiar with."

Source #3: DAT audience tape.
8/11/05 White River Amphitheatre Auburn (Seattle) Intro-Sabbath Medley [incomplete], N.I.B., After Forever, War Pigs, Band Introductions, Dirty Women, Fairies Wear Boots, Medley: Symptom of The Universe [instrumental – short] -> Sweet Leaf [short arrangement] -> Electric Funeral, Iron Man, Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [intro] -> Paranoid, E: A Bit Of Finger -> Children Of The Grave AUD Good to VG quality audience recording from digital audience film by Shane P. Some slight distortion around the edges, but still clear and enjoyable. Contains one particularly cringeworthy moment when poor Ozzy chokes his way through the final lines of "Dirty Women", but throws his microphone down in disgust before finishing. Iommi more than compensates for this embarrasing moment by playing an absolute stunner of a solo.

Ozzy's tantrum marked an important turning point in the Ozzfest 2005 tour. Just days after starting the U.S. tour, Ozzy began to have problems with his voice that forced the band to either shorten the set list or cancel shows altogether. By the time they reached Seattle 2 weeks later, Ozzy felt completely frustrated with the situation. On the day following this concert, Ozzy announced that he was "retiring from Ozzfest" at the conclusion of this tour.
8/15/05 Sleep Train Amphitheatre Maryville (Sacramento) Intro-Sabbath Medley, N.I.B., After Forever, War Pigs, Dirty Women, Fairies Wear Boots, Medley: Symptom Of The Universe [instrumental], Sweet Leaf [short arrangement], Electric Funeral, Iron Man, Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [intro] -> Paranoid, E: A Bit Of Finger -> Children Of The Grave. AUD Excellent audience recording of complete show.
8/20/05 Hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen Devore (San Bernardino) N.I.B., After Forever, War Pigs, Band Introductions, Dirty Women, Fairies Wear Boots, Symptom of The Universe [instrumental – short], Sweet Leaf [short arrangement], Electric Funeral, Iron Man, Black Sabbath, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath [intro] -> Paranoid, E: A Bit Of Finger -> Children Of The Grave. AUD VG audience recording of complete show. This was the infamous tour finale for Iron Maiden that saw Bruce Dickenson get pelted with eggs and the power pulled 4 times on Maiden. Their set was recorded as well.

Taper's Notes: "SP-CMC-2>Battery box>JB3>WAV>PC>FLAC. I used the same rig to record Maiden."

"I haven't had a good chance to listen to this one yet. I think it sounds better than the Maiden tape and I think a Sabbath fan will appreciate it. T he reason for the sound, you'll have to excuse me. It was right around 95 degrees all day, and being the idiot that I am, only drank soda, which if you'll know is no substitute for water. I began to feel quite ill and had a huge headache. I sat up in my chair but couldn't bear to stand the whole Sabbath set. I'd been there since 11 that morning and I was really tempted to leave but though I'd kick myself in the ass the next day if I did. And I would have. Nice performance by the boys. No Ozzy cracks from what I can tell.
Some assholes talk a bit over quiet parts in Black Sabbath. F*cking pricks"
