Robert Bennett: "Ronnie James Dio was the lead vocalist at the time, and they held a special presentation during the show to present him with a plaque and the keys to the city, as he originally hails from a small town just south of Syracuse [Cortland]. It was a very special show!"

John O’Brien: “I've attended a few Sabbath shows: 05/22/82 and (rescheduled. from 02/06/82) at the Syracuse War Memorial (Syracuse, NY), 02/16/84 - at the Lakeland Civic Center (Lakeland, FL). I have also seen Dio on the LAST IN LINE, SACRED HEART and MAGICA tours! I too recall the '82 show having been amazing. The mayor of Cortland presented RJD with the homecoming plaque and keys to the city. There are a few photos on the inside of Live Evil from the show, including the shot of RJD with the banner from the crowd.”
| Rich Scofield: "The story on your site about Dio receiving keys to the city was true. I'm almost positive it was the mayor of Cortland, NY who presented the keys though." |
